With the Canadian Screen Awards (CSA) in full swing, the Academy of Canadian Cinema & Television has prepared several free public events for Saturday, March 2.

In their inaugural year, the CSA have merged the Genie Awards and the Gemini Awards to celebrate the best in film, television, and digital media.

The CSA Television & Digital Media Award ceremonies took place on Feb. 27 & 28, while films will be celebrated on March 3 in a live broadcast on CBC at 8 p.m. EST. Comedian Martin Short will host.

Here are the events:

Film screening of “The Apprenticeship of Duddy Kravitz” 

Time: 12 p.m.
Location: Tiff Bell Lightbox, Reitman Square, 350 King Street West
Description: A special screening of a digitally remastered version of the 1974 Canadian classic. Watch Richard Dreyfuss’ breakthrough role in the film based on Mordecai Richler’s book. Tickets are free and may be reserved online at http://tiff.net/calendar/specialevents

Fan Zone

Time: 12 p.m. – 2 p.m. 
Location: Sony Centre for the Performing Arts, 1 Front Street East 
Description: Meet and get autographs from some of Canada’s biggest stars from CBC, City, CTV, Global, and more. The event is hosted by SPACE’s Teddy Wilson. Some of the celebrity guests include Allan Hawco (“Republic of Doyle”), Arlene Dickinson (“Dragon’s Den”) and Adam Beach (“Arctic Air”). See below for the complete list.
