Two teenagers and a 12-year-old were arrested April 20 for allegedly beating a homeless man in downtown Long Beach, according to media reports.

The incident occurred around 6:30 p.m., when Long Beach police officers responded to reports of an assault with a deadly weapon on the 100 block of Pacific Avenue, the Los Angeles Times said.

Police said the three boys, —ages 15, 14, and 12—got into an argument with a homeless man, local news broadcaster Fox 11 reported.

The boys then allegedly attacked the man with a tripod and tent poles. Police said they also threw things at him.

When police arrived at the scene, the boys had already left. They were arrested shortly afterward and charged with assault with a deadly weapon and conspiracy to commit a crime, according to media reports.

The victim suffered minor injuries and was treated at the scene, media reports said.
