FLUSHING, New York City—A public rally and parade by Falun Gong practitioners and supporters of Falun Gong to protest the persecution of Falun Gong and to celebrate the mark of over 38 million people quitting the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and its two affiliated student leagues was held between noon and 4 p.m. on June 14 in Flushing, New York City.
The rally and parade attracted a lot of attention from residents and tourists of Flushing. Many people attended the rally to support the cause. Some even decided to quit the CCP and its affiliated organizations at the rally.
A young couple originally from Fujian Province in China and currently residing in Philadelphia saw the rally during their visit to Flushing. After the rally, the young couple decided to quit the Chinese Communist Party's Youth League and Young Pioneers, which they were members of. They also asked to learn Falun Gong.
The man Liu Jianxin and the wife Chen Yanjin both asked to quit the "wicked Youth League and Young Pioneers" with their real names.
They both disapprove of the CCP because it says one thing and does another. They said that the CCP keeps boasting of its earthquake rescue efforts in Sichuan, but in fact denied foreign rescue teams from entering China for the most critical 72 hours after the earthquake. They said many lives could have been saved died as a result.
Mr. Liu said he hates the corrupt CCP. While the majority of financial resources are in the hands of the corrupted Chinese officials and the price index keeps rising, the average Chinese people's incomes have improved very little and the Chinese people continue to live in poverty.
