VANCOUVER, Canada—Halen Panchuck, a professional dancer of classical ballet, attended the Chinese Spectacular at the Surrey Bell Performing Arts Centre April 26. She was extremely happy to be at the performance.

"I love it. It was really beautiful. It was very, very interesting. I'm really excited that I decided to come tonight."

When speaking of the dancers and as an experienced dancer herself, Halen felt that the performance was of high quality.

"The performances … it's really touching, and just in general the dancing and the movements and everything were really spectacular. I'm very impressed. I'm very surprised and impressed at the amount of skill that the dancers have. I took classical ballet for fifteen years. I'm really, really impressed on the skill level, the technical skill, it's really amazing."

Ed Brando and Sally Mark enjoyed the Spectacular very much.

"Very colorful, vibrant. I don't know much about traditional dance, so it's nice to see 5,000 years of dance tradition," commented Ed Brando.

Mr Brando works primarily in film in the entertainment industry and commented on the technical detail.

"It's very technical and so far the performances have been very tight, I'm mean, the bowls on people's heads [Mongolian Bowl Dance], nobody's committing mistakes, nothing's happened, very synchronized."

He also felt that the digital backdrops were very special.

"I'm amazed that the screen is lit by front projection as opposed to rear projection. I know this sounds silly, but such a long distance I thought it would be easier to do it from behind, but I'm impressed with certain little details like that."

Sally Mark, who works part time as a personal trainer and in marketing, could tell by the movement of the dancers' feet that the dancers were well trained.

"You could tell by the subtle techniques, like how they turn their feet. You can tell from that that they are skilled dancers."

Muming Reyea, a pharmacist, was very moved and very touched by the performances by the Divine Performing Arts company.

"Superb, … it's very moving, very powerful, I mean, I cried."

Speaking of the dancers and costumes, Muming commented, "They are graceful dancers. I think it's well made. … before the dances they have the (introduction), so I can follow the flow of story. (The costumes), they're gorgeous. Well done! "I think everything is just nice," she continued, "I wish there was a DVD, that we can purchase, then we can show it to friends."
