AUCKLAND, New Zealand—"Would I recommend this show to my friends?" Ms Bsme Price, an excited attendee of the Saturday evening Chinese Spectacular , asked rhetorically.

She quickly followed with: "Absolutely! There is nowhere you can go to see such a show. There's nowhere where this type of show exists!"

Ms Price liked the two performances which portrayed aspects of Falun Gong, a Chinese spiritual discipline, and its severe persecution: "I liked the fact that the Falun Gong scenes were included. They were wonderful. I didn't know much about Falun Gong until I saw this show. It is good to make this information available to the public… and the in the form I saw it, it was wonderful. The communist regime shouldn't persecute people like it does. It was a very touching scene."

'The sea waving, its amazing!'

Iryna, an accountant who saw the matinee performance in the afternoon, also found the show refreshingly new: "It is absolutely fantastic, I really like it... [this is my] first time I see [a] show like this, and actually my first meeting with Chinese culture. I really enjoy it. For me it is very new... I like ballet, but its different, yes I like it."

Iryna noted the opening scene of the piece 'Nymphs of the Sea', "The sea waving, its amazing! Very nice dancing, very attractive."
