AUCKLAND, New Zealand—The boss of a mentoring company whose family originally came from Mongolia said she once danced a similar dance to the performers in the Chinese Spectacular.

Ingrid Johnston, manager of Life Coach Associates in Christchurch came to see the opening night of the show in Auckland on Thursday April 17.

She said that she was so impressed with the show she would bring friends to Friday's performance.

She added: "I can understand it has a deep meaning. The singing comes from the heart. I have seen many shows from Western society. They have no heart, it is artificial. This [show] is total heart. It is meaningful. I am very impressed."

She said that her family came from Mongolia and she immediately recognised a scene where performers danced with bowls balanced on their heads ['Mongolian Bowl Dance'].

"When I was 17 to 18 years old, I danced the same dance," she said.

Ms Johnston said that she herself meditated and understood some of the spiritual messages in the show, which was presented by the Divine Performing Arts dance company. She said that one scene from the backdrop had particular symbolism for her. "When the land is dry and hot … it [symbolised] the future … it will happen if people don't change.

"People have to change, people have to raise from the lie into the truth. People have to acknowledge reality and have to stop punishing each other."

She added: "It is nice to be here, I will bring some other people tomorrow."
