ADELAIDE, Australia—Among the packed audience attending the last Chinese Spectacular show in its Australian tour on Tuesday evening were friends Kathy, Maria, and Violetta.

They spoke to The Epoch Times during the interval about how they enjoyed the first half of the show.

"Colourful, spectacular, enchanting," said Kathy Pipinias, a furniture company sales manager. "Behind the scenes, the different colours…and the way they dance to the music. It's beautiful."

Maria Vicario, a personal assistant for a telecommunications company, was also in awe. "I liked the graphics as well. I liked the portrayal of the tradition. And I absolutely loved the boys, the boy dancers. They are spectacular, the drummers especially. They were absolutely sensational."

"And their faces. There's so much expression on their faces," added Violetta Hodgens. "They're wonderful. You can really tell the mood that they're in. It's wonderful, their skills."

Kathy and Maria agreed.

"And their hands, I loved the girls' hands and their fingers," said Kathy.

"They almost look like porcelain—their fingers, the colours, the costumes, everything," added Maria.

Violetta thought the soprano was excellent. "She was amazing. Very meaningful and profound songs that they sung. Just excellent. Very timely, I think. The world needs to hear and think about those things."

"Very touching, very traditional. I think they're very deep. I think that whole culture is just very, very deep," Kathy said after adding praise to the male baritone.

"I found it very spiritual. It was very enchanting. Mesmerised." said Maria.

Kathy agreed. "Their message is definitely something we all need to hear and take note of, and I think we're privileged to be here tonight."

The three friends shared their favourite performances in the first half.

"The drummers for me so far. I just liked the vitality. The strength, the intensity, the expression on their faces," said Kathy.

Violetta liked "The Mongolian Bowl Dance" the most, describing it as "really pretty".

For Maria, "The Risen Lotus Flower" was most touching, "I like the scene where … the one girl that was being tortured and how she then goes to heaven and there's the spiritual side all in heaven. And then the dance created in front of you. I really enjoyed that part of it. I think it appealed to me because of the colours and the serenity of that particular act. And their portrayal of what it is, after life here on earth. Life after death, and how happy it was there. That stood out for me."

The Chinese Spectacular continues touring in New Zealand with shows in Auckland from Thursday through Saturday.
