CANBERRA, Australia—John Hilbert, editor of an online publication, said the Spectacular took him to "another world" when he saw the show at the Canberra Theatre April 11.
"I think the show was very nicely done," Mr Hilbert said.
"It takes you into another world really, it's very entertaining. It's nicely paced, quite relaxing and quite stimulating, too.
"It reminded me how nice water colours are actually ... the graceful dancing and ensemble work, it was just very impressive to see."
'Brings an Awareness of Chinese Culture'
Brian, an engineer, said: [the Spectacular] "brings an awareness of Chinese culture to the Western world."
He said the show gave him "the realisation that, like in the West, they had their struggles in the past and in the present."
'Everyone Must See It.'
Tanya Pirotta, who works at Prime Television network, said she learned a lot about China from the Chinese Spectacular .
"I loved the show. It was fabulous," Ms Pirotta said.
"Everyone must see it.
"[I learned] that China's a very beautiful place and the history is so — it's such a rich old culture. It's beautiful."
She explained she was most touched by 'The Risen Lotus Flower', a dance movement that depicts three female Falun Gong practitioners detained in jail, one of whom is beaten after standing up for the others.
"That did touch me," Ms Pirocca said. "I felt very sad that those things still happen.
"It's a good practice, Falun Gong, it's a peaceful thing," she said. "So I think people should be able to practise it. I don't think people should be persecuted for what they believe in."
