PARIS—Zhang Hua is a freelance writer and poet who just came to Paris from mainland China. He enjoyed the Divine Performing Arts Chinese Spectacular for the first time on Saturday evening at the Palais des Congrès. With great excitement, he wrote an impromptu poem immediately after the show:

Mr. Zhang said Divine Performing Arts took the audience on a miraculous journey between myths and legends, history and reality, heaven and earth. He sees the hope of China's cultural renaissance, and in it, a strong force that will dissolve and disintegrate the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) culture in China.
'Spectacular' Is Leading the Way to China's Cultural Renaissance
Mr. Zhang was most impressed by the "Drummers of Tang Court." "Why was the Great Tang able to become the Great Tang, the peak of China's civilization and arts?" he asked. "It's precisely because the Tang Dynasty combined cultures from all over the world. Chinese people who lived in the Tang Dynasty were so fortunate. I believe when a new China is on the horizon, we will have the same fortune. That's what touched me most. The performance by DPA tells the stories of Chinese legends, and depicts 'truthfulness, compassion, tolerance' conquering evil. These artistic expressions are very unique and refreshing. It's very different from the Communist Party culture. These divine artists will sow the seeds of 'truthfulness, compassion and tolerance' all over the world, hence making a great contribution to humankind."
Mr. Zhang felt that the Spectacular differs from the "Spring Festival Gala" hosted by the Chinese communist regime on a fundamental level. "Be it Confucius Academy, or Spring Festival Gala, the CCP's motive in hosting these programs is always to rescue and protect its leadership position. In the past 50 years, the CCP has been brainwashing people with the ideology of atheism, which has completely ruined the brilliant Chinese traditional culture."
"A renaissance of a nation is, first of all, the renaissance of its culture, which is the soul of that nation," said Mr. Zhang. "What is lacking most in today's China is the respect towards heaven, belief in the existence of God and showing esteem towards God. Therefore, upon seeing that the Spectacular is leading the way to China's cultural renaissance, I feel extremely happy as a freelance poet and writer."
The dance 'The Risen Lotus Flower,' depicting the peaceful response of three women who practice Falun Gong under the persecution of their jailers, brought back some personal recollections, for Mr. Zhang, who left China three years ago.
He was very impressed by the Falun Gong movement. He said, "Falun Gong is shattering and dissolving CCP's party culture. Three years ago when I left China, the book 'Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party' could be found everywhere. I was one of the many people who were able to read it even when I was inside China. Falun Gong practitioners are just like the martyrs who pursue truth single-mindedly, one after another without any fear. I have seen the painted characters 'Falun Dafa is Great' on the bridge. The CCP cannot do anything about it. Even if they erase and repaint it, Falun Gong practitioners will come back to paint it again. So, when I saw the characters 'Falun Dafa is great' in the dance 'Risen Lotus [Flower]' my feeling was very different from those around me, because I have personally witnessed it!"
A Unique Phenomenon
As a writer and poet, Zhang has a high level of understanding of China's culture, philosophy, and history. He is acquainted with many scholars and philosophers in China. He himself ran a bookstore in China. With a broad access channel to information sources and independent thinking, he has his own view on many of the things happening in China.
"I have seen that during each political movement initiated by the CCP, people all feel the CCP is correct, they themselves are wrong. The Falun Gong phenomenon reflects people's awakening and independent thinking. Practitioners believe it is their freedom to practice Falun Gong. They do not bow to the CCP. It is a very unique phenomenon in the 60-year-history under the rule of CCP."
"Why is the Western society able to progress so rapidly? It is closely tied with the advocacy of freedom of individuals and democracy. Martin Luther King led tens of thousand people to demonstrate in front of the White House; he is now remembered as a great civil rights leader in the U.S. However, Falun Gong practitioners have not even demonstrated like King; they only went to the government to clarify their situation. What befalls them is fierce suppression by the CCP. Practitioners resist the suppression strongly; they have become the grave-diggers of the CCP."
"Why is the CCP regime able to continue its leadership in China?" he asked. "It is because the CCP has resorted to violence and lies and blockage of information. As long as freedom of media can be achieved, the CCP will be disintegrated instantly, because people get to know the truth."
