PARIS—"We loved it, loved the colours, the professionalism of the dancers. It's something very different to what we usually see," said Rama Germaoui, a manager in the textile sector of Vendôme Création in Paris.
Germaoui was commenting on the Divine Performing Arts Chinese Spectacular, currently wowing audiences during its run at the Palais des Congres in Paris.
"It's very relaxing, I liked the backdrop and the costumes and especially the colour — the colour and the movement," added Germaoui.
Catherine, Le Louarn, a medical doctor and nutritional consultant, attended Saturday evening's performance with Germouai.
"I came last year, and I liked it a lot. You know, I had the impression, that I have had again this year, of coming out of there happy….it is really a moment of well being.
"One comes out of there with a true dose of happiness," said Le Louarn. "Perhaps because it's a type of music that we are not really used to, it's different.
"There is a mixture of genres that is very pretty, very harmonic. There is a lot of harmony in this show."
Le Louarn said she was very impressed by the erhu numbers in the Spectacular, played by Xaiochun Qi. The erhu is a two-stringed Chinese instrument, known for its wide range of notes and haunting sound.
"The mixture of classical music also, and the instrument with two strings is fantastic, fantastic. The dance and the music are harmonious."
Germouai added that the show provided "a pleasant change of scenery, it's not what we are used to seeing. Everything is fluid, harmonious."
After Paris, the Divine Performing Arts tour will continue on to Switzerland, Austria, Slovakia and the Czech Republic.
