TAINAN—After seeing the Divine Performing Arts Chinese Spectacular's second performance in Tainan on March 1, kindergarten director, Huang Fen said that she was overwhelmed by magnificence of the entire programs. She felt it is profound and conveys spiritual power.
Ms. Huang said that what she felt most amazed were the actors were totally devoted to the performances, and the entire program expresses something profound. "The message it passes to people is really great. There is spiritual power passed through music and dancing." said Huang.
She added that she likes the programs combining Chinese myths and history, for example, 'Lady of the Moon', the story of 'The Loyalty of Yue Fei' and the persecution of religion. It's good to represent stories through such performances.
"In 'Lady of the Moon' and 'Yue Fei,' there were no languages, but only dancing. However, the audience can understand what the performances expressed. I think it's not easy." Ms. Huang continued, "I have quite a different feeling towards this part. I've watched many performances of dancing, but they seldom represent this part."
Ms. Huang was also amazed by the skylight, scenery made by high technological skills. "I was very alert when watching the first program, 'Descent of the Celestial Kings'. It expressed faith. I admire that the program used a simple but direct way to show the real feelings, that is, the feeling of all gods descending from heaven. I was so surprised that my goose pimples suddenly appeared! I cannot express the feeling with language. The impact it gave me directly entered my heart."
Ms. Huang's daughter learns dancing, so she's familiar with dancing. She often saw that many dance performers like to show their skills, but she felt tonight's performance was different. "I saw few artificial skills today. It is simple and real. The feeling is really great. I feel returning to simplicity and innocence. There is something innocent transpired in the performance. I think it's the most essential part of human nature. This is my most direct feeling."
