Manchester City has an opportunity to win an unprecedented fourth consecutive English Premier League title this weekend.

However, Arsenal still has a chance to take home the trophy, but they will need some help from West Ham United, who play Manchester City on the final day.

Manchester City sits atop the table with 88 points, while Arsenal is close behind at 86.

The EPL title will come down to the last day for just the 10th time in the competition’s 32-year history. The team leading the Premier League going into the final day has won the trophy each time.

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola said his players should feel no pressure on Sunday at the Etihad Stadium.

“Even if we don’t win it, it has been so fine,” Guardiola said. “Still we are here together and nothing is going to change whether we win four in a row or Arsenal win the Premier League. We know how good we have been.

“I don’t want to play the game thinking of the consequences. More than ever focused, what to do to score goals. Break when deep how they arrive in the box. Feel the support from our people this is what we have to think about. The rest later.”

Manchester City can win the league title with a win against West Ham. However, a loss or draw would open the door for Arsenal to take home the trophy if the Gunners can beat Everton.

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is hopeful his team will emerge victorious against Everton and Manchester City will falter.

“It’s one of the biggest weeks for many of us, and certainly now is the most important moment,” Arteta said. “I’m really excited and can’t wait for Sunday to be in front of us, and obviously I’m very optimistic as well with the possible outcome. … The hope was there and it didn’t happen and now we have to do our job which is going to be tough because Everton are in a really good moment, so we’re going have to prove again that we can be better than the opponent and win the game.

“Then we have to wish for the best and for West Ham to have a really good day and help us to fulfill our dream. That’s what we’re hoping for.”

Arsenal goalie David Raya has helped lead his team’s resurgence and he won the Premier League Golden Glove award for the 2023-2024 season after amassing more shutouts than any other goalkeeper.

Liverpool has secured third place with 79 points and closes out the regular season against Wolves on Sunday. It will also be the last game for manager Jurgen Klopp, who announced in January that he will step down after nine with the club.

Klopp expects an emotional day at Anfield on Sunday

“The most intense week of my life definitely,” he said. “I said so often goodbye this week, to so many people. Great moments already. We don’t have to pretend it’s a normal week, because it isn’t. But on the other hand, looking at the game, I said it as well this week already – I’m a very pragmatic person and very often I try to just save myself.”

“This is the last game of the season, yes, and after that is a holiday – that’s what I had for the last 24 years. So, business as usual… knowing that everything around the game and during the game will be completely different.

Aston Villa has clinched fourth place in the EPL with 68 points, which also gives them a spot in the Champions League for the first time since the 1982-83 season.

Aston Villa won what was known then as the European Cup in 1981–82. The following year, Aston Villa lost to Bayern Munich in the quarterfinals—their last appearance.

Aston Villa finished the EPL season Sunday against Crystal Palace.

“We are so thankful for what happened with our supporters,” Aston Villa manager Unai Emery said. “How we finished the season was a dream. You have to work hard to get to your dreams and we all did to get to play in the Champions League.”
