SYDNEY—Technology buffs have a wait of less than two more days before they get their hands on Apple's new iPhone, with Optus holding a launch party at midnight on Thursday.

"There will be a celebration, there will be Fuzzy from MTV, she'll be there, there will be free coffee and food, and giveaways," she said.
Registered customers in Victoria and Queensland will be able to pick up the iPhone on Friday morning, at Apple's Chadstone store in Melbourne, and in the Queen Street store in Brisbane.
