PARIS—A pro-communist Chinese mob attacked attendees of a rally in Paris supporting Chinese people who denounced the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) on the afternoon of June 29.

Communist supporters verbally and physically assaulted rally attendees, and attempted to destroy a TV used at the rally site.

The rally was organized by the Global Service Center for Quitting the CCP, a volunteer group that encourages Chinese people around the world to resign from the CCP and its affiliated organizations, and publishes quit-CCP statements on its website. The rally was held to support the 39 million Chinese who have denounced the CCP. Among the attendees were many Falun Gong practitioners, adherents of the spiritual practice banned and persecuted in China.

The pro-CCP mob appeared not long after the rally started. They surrounded the rally attendees, shouting obscenities and violently pushing them around.

According to witnesses, the mob mainly consisted of Chinese people from Wenzhou City and its surrounding areas, an area long known as a major source of Chinese illegal immigrants. "The third district of Paris, where our rally was held, has a large population of Chinese people from Wenzhou," said Hu, spokesman of the Paris Service Center for Quitting the CCP and witness of the incident.

"The Chinese communist regime has taken pains to infiltrate this area. We chose this district to hold our rally because we think it's necessary to bring the truth to this community."

'What are you doing here challenging communism?'

Zhang, a volunteer of the Service Center, said the CCP supporters were violent and crazy with hatred. "These CCP supporters poured out of the coffee shop across the street. It seemed like they had been waiting for us. One of them—a Wenzhou man in a white shirt—first started to shout at the rally attendees. He screamed, 'What are you doing here challenging communism? Go back to China if you dare! You are all traitors!'"

The rally attendees explained that they were protesting against the Chinese communist regime, not Chinese people, but the CCP supporters would not listen. They yelled curses and obscenities at the top of their voices and made threatening gestures as well as physical attacks.

'Break the TV! Break it!'

During the rally, a TV was brought to play programs about the persecution of Falun Gong, and about the recent Flushing mob attacks inspired by the Chinese Consulate. When the program played the audio recording of New York Chinese Consul General Peng Keyu admitting that he organized the attacks on Falun Gong in Flushing, the man in the white shirt threw himself at the TV in an attempt to break it. He was stopped by other people at the scene.

To the continuous loud screams of "Break the TV! Break it!" several other attempts were made to break the TV, but all in vain. CCP supporters also threatened to break the cameras of news media. A man waved his fists at a NTDTV reporter and her cameraman and shouted, "You'd better not videotape me! Or I'll smash your camera!"

Witness said that some CCP supporters contacted the Chinese Embassy during the attack, and that a vehicle belonging to the Chinese Embassy drove by the site during the attack.

Attacks Similar to Flushing NY Mob Violence

This Paris attack is is similar to attacks that have taken place in South Korea, Poland, and the larger-scale attacks that have occurred in Flushing, New York since May 17. Several Falun Gong practitioners have been beaten up and injured in Flushing, and 12 pro-communist supporters have been arrested by the police so far. More than one witness revealed that many of the Flushing CCP supporters were paid by the Chinese Consulate, and that many of them are Chinese illegal immigrants or self-claimed refugees.

Volunteers from the Service Center said they would continue doing what they have been doing for years despite the violent assaults.

"All we're trying to do is to let people know the truth," said a volunteer calmly.

"I believe violence and evil can not last. I'm confident that once the truth is widely known, more and more people will stand up for justice. I wish more Chinese could learn about the evil deeds of the CCP and denounce it for a better future."
