FLUSHING, New York— In the US, things are fundamentally based on the humanitarian point of view. But in Mainland China, everything is derived from stabilizing the regimes' power.
The Tuidang Center in Chinese and The Service Center for Quitting the Chinese Communist Party and all its Affiliates for English Speakers has been in front of the Queens Library in Flushing, New York for 4 years, and operated without any discernible unpleasant incidents until May 17, 2008.
Passerby Mr. Zhang expressed his disapproval of the recent events in Flushing. He said "What is the truth behind incidences that made Chinese people lose face, brought the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) philosophy to New York and came at a time when the CCP regime wants to show the world that they are worthy of being the host of the August 2008 Olympic Games.
"The disturbance was created by a large group of Chinese people who held the red Chinese flag. It is known now that they were very well organized and were driven on by those spouting Communist Chinese lies and rhetorics. Yet, they did not come because of a belief in a cause, but because they received payment for being there and for showing the communist muscle.
Did Not Look Educated
"None of those involved in the incident looked truly like people who work for a living, who work in an office, but more like students or those in need of a few extra bucks. They definitely did not look educated. Psychological profiling tells that people who are willing to create such disturbances are easy to incite and lack a strong mind."
Mr. Zhang was someone who felt embarrassed by the bullying tactics and shared his viewpoint with our reporter. He had just left a near-by bank when he saw a disturbing scene.
"I saw a group of 5 to 6 people surrounding an elderly and kindly looking man. I went up and told the group of people "Don't mix the concept of CCP and China." Then, they shouted, "This is a Falun Gong person." I told them "I am not Falun Gong. But what you are doing is wrong. Every one is trying to help with the disaster. The natural disaster is hard to prevent, but human disaster can be prevented," Zhang said.
Zhang wanted to explain his perspective about the Olympics to the group and said, "Talking about the Olympics, you politicize it. No Olympic hosting country would run around the world and invite all the heads of state, and even reach every province inside the country. This is the first time for China, yes, the fact itself is significant, and you don't have to do all these series of promotions. This is politically motivated. And you always take any criticism as political attack."
The longer he talked the more of these unruly people began to surround him and he readied himself for a fight. "Someone began to kick me, twice. Police came in time. Otherwise, there would have been a fight. I am not Falun Gong. I don't tolerate. If you beat me, I'll beat you. I admire Falun Gong. They can tolerate. I don't want to tolerate," explained Zhang.
Zhang is not taken in by the economics touted by the CCP. He knows exactly what the CCP is like and does not want to be associated with it. He understands that the CCP tries to hide its true nature under the mantle of economics.
"The CCP is not different than before. They do have more high-rise buildings. That does not mean any progress. CCP never cared for people. Why did those school buildings collapse and a hundred year old temple did not? There was no corruption when the temple was built and they used good material. The school buildings were made of cheap materials. They want to use people's sympathy towards the earthquake and direct people's attention towards hating Falun Gong. They do this outside of China and then publicize it in China. The CCP is so skilled in cheating people. So skillful! Chinese are so pitiful. They don't even know they are cheated," Zhang continued.
Zhang vocalized what many people thought but were too afraid to say out loud, "The whole purpose of the Flushing hate campaign is to redirect the focus of peoples' attention to Falun Gong, attack Falun Gong and incite hatred towards Falun Gong. They then publicize it in China. It will get people in China to hate Falun Gong."
For Chinese people, The Chinese Consul General Peng Keyu's behavior and his boasting about it on the phone to a stranger, is intolerable. Zhang said that Falun Gong practitioners are admirable and show to the world the true Chinese soul.
"Peng Keyu is very stupid. How can he violate international law? He was acting like a spy and like an agent. I truly admire Falun Gong. They are here when it's snowing. Today, it's so hot. They are still here. It's hard to find people like this. This is a capitalistic country. Time is money. People won't do anything without money. Falun Gong is cultivation. They don't do it for pay. They are devoted to the cause."
"The Chinese regime is so different from the regimes in the free world. The free world will think of how it affects others and in China they search for ways for the regime to survive.
"Communication is a lot more advanced now. I don't think they [CCP regime] can cover it [incidents in China]. They don't want to see the problem spreading. They do everything to stabilize its power. For example, if people protest, a suppressed complaint will explode. What can they do? The Olympics are imminent. They are trying to do their best to handle the situation. But the fundamental issue is very different. In the US, things are fundamentally based on the humanistic point of view. But in Mainland China, everything is derived from stabilizing the regimes' power. "
