Britain's Andy Murray was taken to four sets by Germany's Tommy Haas and has now made it to the last sixteen and the second week of Wimbledon.

Haas, still recovering from the third shoulder operation in his career, started the first game without losing a point. But Murray was quick to command control.

Haas' second service game didn't go as well and Murray broke the German with some of his trademark sharp returns.

In the fourth game Murray showed some impressive serving and started to notch up his aces for the match.

Murray held his service games to take the first set 6–4.

Murray dominated the play and fans could see the frustration from the volatile German. But Haas started to gain a foothold in the match half way through the second set to take it to a tiebreak. With both players showing some serve and volley play, Haas hung on to take the tiebreak 7–4 to even the match at one set each.

Murray came back strong in the third set and lead 5–2 with eventually taking the set 6–3.

In the fifth game of the fourth set Haas served a double fault to hand Murray the game 2–3.

The drop shot came in handy for Murray on numerous occasions and it came in useful to bring it to 4–2 in his serve game. He then broke Haas and served out to win the match.

Andy Murray reached the round of sixteen, which equals his best previous performance at Wimbledon (2006).
