LAHORE—Suresh Raina and Mahendra Singh Dhoni scored centuries against a helpless Hong Kong side to take India to an imposing 374 for four in their 50 overs in the Asia Cup one-day tournament in Karachi on Wednesday.
Raina (101) and captain Dhoni (109 not out) put on 166 runs from 123 balls for the fourth wicket after openers Virender Sehwag (78) and Gautam Gambhir (51) had scored 100 from 65 balls in a 127-run opening stand.
India ran riot after winning the toss in their first game of the tournament, with Raina scoring his maiden hundred after racing to his second 50 in only 16 balls with five sixes.
Raina took 50 balls for his first 50 but opened up to hit pace bowler Skhawat Ali for three sixes in one over before he fell to Afzaal Haider.
The left-hander hit Haider for a six to reach his century before Haider had him caught at midwicket by Irfan Ahmed, who had earlier caught Sehwag.

Dhoni was also in spectacular form, scoring his hundred from 90 balls with six sixes and five fours.
Openers Sehwag and Gambhir had brought up the 50 in under six overs and smashed 100 from 65 balls before Sehwag fell for a blistering 78 from 44 balls with 13 fours and two sixes, his 28th 50 in one-day internationals.
Sehwag fell to left-arm spinner Najeeb Amar, who also had Gambhir caught for 51 off 54 balls.
Amar bowled well to concede just 40 runs in his 10 overs while the other Hong Kong bowlers were put to the sword.
Rohit Sharma was run out for 11 but Dhoni and Raina combined to take the game away from Hong Kong.
