NEW YORK—Since May 17 the Chinese communist regime has employed secret agents to assault Falun Gong adherents in Flushing. Meanwhile, they have fabricated stories to pin the blame on Falun Gong. More and more New Yorkers have become disgusted with what the communist regime had done, condemning the behavior and reporting incidents when they catch them.
One of the false stories the communist regime has tried to spread across the world is that Falun Gong practitioners refused to donate to earthquake relief efforts. A few days ago, an elder resident of Flushing in New York City, Liu Guohua, told The Epoch Time that he personally disputed the tricks behind collecting money seen on the city's Main Street. "They were walking along the street bold as brass collecting money while swearing at Falun Gong," said Liu. "They just behaved affectedly."
Liu said he personally knew many Falun Gong practitioners that donated money toward the relief effort for the Sichuan earthquake. "The communist party went out of their way to distort this," he said. "For those who spread rumors to frame Falun Gong while collecting people's money—are they really raising funds for earthquake relief?"
"In America, you could donate money to some legitimate organizations, such as the American Red Cross. For fundraising on the Main Street, I feel dubious about where the money eventually goes, although some may be sincere in donating," Liu added.
"Every donator had better publish how much he or she has donated," he suggested. For example, he could put a notice in the local grocery store detailing how much he donated. In addition, the Chinese embassies and consulates must release the total figures raised and the amount transferred to the Red Cross. In reality, the Chinese consulate, I think, did not really raise funds for earthquake victims; instead they gave back the money to those from whom they collected. Their collecting the money is nothing but show. They are just putting on an act with the intention to slander Falun Gong."
"I think it is kind of strange that there are so many on the street, each holding a donation collection box, collecting money. Is this an appropriate method for fundraising?" asked Liu. "Falun Gong practitioners donate to the relief effort, but do so without attracting public attention. This is a perfectly acceptable way to contribute."
"Meanwhile they yell obscenities at Falun Gong adherents in the street and have stigmatized Falun Gong for their supposed failure to raise money. Apparently these groundless accusations are made with ulterior motives," he said.
