GM, Ford Sink After S&P Says It May Cut Debt Ratings

NEW YORK—Shares of General Motors Corp and Ford Motor Co plummeted after credit ratings agency Standard & Poor's said it may cut the U.S. automakers' ratings.

GM shares fell 5.9 percent to $13.92 on the New York Stock Exchange, while shares of Ford declined 7.4 percent to $5.85.
