EDMONTON—The curtain of Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium's centre stage closed on the final performance of this year's world tour of the Divine Performing Arts' Chinese Spectacular Wednesday evening.

"It's very eye opening. I know nothing about the Chinese culture, so how they portray different events or their Gods or beliefs [is interesting]," said Realtor Jeff Heniuk during the intermission.

"What's unique about the show is everything is portrayed in body language, in imaging. It's in actual human choreography rather than in digital effects. When you go to the movies its all computers now, there are no computers here."

Heniuk, who says he's been in the real estate business for more than 20 years, remarked on the diversity of the backgrounds of the performers and how they came together to put on this show.

"Before the show I was reading the backgrounds of the performers. It's quite a diversification. It's very interesting where they studied. Universities and what not. Everybody is from quite a lot of different backgrounds."

"Everybody pulling together with the same message and working together with the same beliefs. It's amazing how many performers there are. It's not like watching two or three people like it is with guitar and drums. It's like a whole village up there."

Heniuk said that his favourite performances were 'Nymphs of the Sea' and 'Drummers of the Tang Court'. He also brought his 10-year-old daughter.

"I wanted to bring my daughter here to give her a taste of culture. She's only 10. What did I get growing up? Some TV, some cartoons, so I'm giving her a better opportunity,' he said.

Heniuk also said that he would recommend the show to friends and would definitely return next year.
