EDMONTON—Edmonton's German Consul, Bernd Reuscher was among the audience for the final performance of Divine Performing Arts' world tour of Chinese Spectacular Wednesday evening.

"Excellent. I've never seen something like this. It's very gracious and very elegant. I liked the performance. It's outstanding," he said.

Reuscher, who said that he enjoyed the drumming performances for their energy, rhythm and dynamics, also said that from a German point of view he was, "fascinated and I like it. For many years I am very interested in Chinese culture."

"It's very refined. We liked every dance. Every dance is different. [I especially] liked the Falun Gong dance and the drummers. I liked the drums."

Reuscher continued with his thoughts about Falun Gong from the dance.

"Well, it is just one dance, so it is difficult to extract too much meaning from it. But just in general it's the persecution of the people who want to express religious freedom."

"Unlike here in Canada, where you have freedom of expression, freedom of religion and freedom of the press."

Reuscher's female companion noted that she found the costuming "so beautiful" and described the show as "a must to come [and see]".
