HUNTSVILLE Alabama—On its world tour of over 65 cities the Divine Performing Arts Chinese Spectacular performed for the first time in Huntsville, Alabama at the Von Braun Center.
"I thought it was wonderful," said Kimberly Scott, owner of a credit management firm in Huntsville. "Very, very beautiful and colorful, the colors are just amazing. I have never seen anything like it. Very beautiful, and very spiritual."
"I thought it was spiritual as far as the oriental ways are, like how they feel about faith and spiritually, it is almost very similar to how we in the Western Christian faith feel. And I never knew that. Like them having faith in a higher power or in God. It is similar and I thought that was very interesting. I was very impressed with that."
When asked what her favorite performance was Kimberly said, "I liked the 'Mongolian Bowl Dance' the best. That shows a lot of balance. I like the guys too. My husband and I take Tae Kwon Do and so we are into the martial arts moves mixed in with the ballet. My husband is also a retired Marine. He went over to Okinawa, Japan a lot so he was taking martial arts, so it is very similar. When I see something of the oriental culture I am very interested in it."
The Chinese Spectacular encompasses the history of 5000 years of traditional Chinese culture though music and dance. The show also has a state of the art three-dimensional background screen, which Kimberly said she liked and that it was something she has never seen before.
"The choreography is just so perfect," replied Kimberly about the overall performance. "It was really amazing; everybody should definitely come out and see this show."
