EDMONTON—From the moment the curtain opened up to the first scene of the Divine Performing Arts Chinese Spectacular , Terry-Ann Jageuary found herself "overwhelmingly emotional," a feeling that she explained as "breath-catching."

"Almost brings a tear to your eyes…. It's just so incredible, the colours, the life they put into it," she said, after seeing the show at Edmonton's Jubilee Auditorium on Tuesday.

"It's amazing how it makes you feel, even though you aren't interpreting it, in your own mind you follow the flow of what they're showing. It's incredible."

Jageuary also said that the vocalists had "amazingly powerful" voices.

"I'm certainly mesmerized by everything I've seen," she said.

Jageuary's husband, Tim Lyeon, a truck driver, also enjoyed the show and said everything in the Spectacular "works just beautifully."

"The colours, the dance, everything; it's fabulous," said Lyeon.

The New York-based Divine Performing Arts is winding up the Canadian leg of its international with three shows in Edmonton from May 5-7.
