LONDON—Police have arrested four teenagers after a 15-year-old boy was stabbed to death in south London, the Metropolitan Police said on Saturday.

The Peckham teenager was assaulted in a stairwell at a block of flats and after the arrival of the London Ambulance Service and an air ambulance was pronounced dead at the scene.

"Another youth has lost his life through knife crime, and we urge anyone with information to come forward as a matter of urgency," Detective Chief Inspector Mick Duthie said in a statement.

Police said four boys—one 15 and 16-year-old and two 17-year-olds—had been arrested near the stabbing.

According to the latest Metropolitan police statistics, five teenagers have been stabbed to death in London this year and two had died from head injuries before Saturday.
