CLEVELAND, Ohio—George Harpster, a Mechanical Engineer, came to the Chinese Spectacular with his wife Elaina who is from the Ukraine, and daughter Megan.
Elaina said she found the show very emotional. "It is an interesting show and I love the dancing. This is the first time I have seen Chinese traditional dance on a real stage, and I am so impressed," she said.
His daughter Megan said that it is definitely a very interesting culture. "I really love all of the dancing and the grace of it. It was nice. I really loved the water fairies ['Nymphs of the Sea,'] and I loved the ending ['Victory Drums.'] It was amazing! The drums are very powerful. I think that it is amazing how they can put power with grace in their culture, and entwine all of this. It's really nice!"
Elaina felt that the show really uplifts one's mood and she also really enjoyed the costumes. "It has a very positive mood. It has really nice costumes, decorations, and scenery."
When asked what their favorite performance was George said that personally his favorite was the chopsticks dance ['Chopstick Zest.'] "That was interesting to see what they could do with those things, because I would have never thought to do that."
When asked how they heard about the show Megan said she found out about it through the Strongsville Mall. "I saw a woman dressed up in a traditional Chinese costume, and I was like, 'Oh I love your costume!' so I went up and got a flyer. We actually just got our tickets yesterday," she added.
George concluded by saying: "I would recommend it for anybody."
