CLEVELAND, Ohio—Known for it's music, basketball, baseball, and of course being one of the largest performing arts centers in the US, the Divine Performing Arts Chinese Spectacular performed in the Playhouse Square Center at the State Theater, for one show only Saturday May 3 to enthusiastic theater goers.

"It was spectacular," explained Fredrick Moody who owns his own dance studio. "The colors and the opening scene were just spectacular. The dancing, the drumming, everything was spectacular."

Deborah Ross, a nurse who accompanied Frederick said: "I think they [the dancers] are very talented because they incorporate acrobatics with tumbling, along with dance. Also I enjoyed … the artistry with the fans and the water scene ['Nymphs of the Sea']. That was brilliant. And, you know, they're very strong because they're athletic but they're not all muscular like some of our American dancers."

The Spectacular depicts the traditional Chinese culture of 5,000 years displayed through music, dance and costumes.

"One thing I like… the costumes are beautiful, they're gorgeous." said Deborah. "They're very brilliant colors. My sister had given me one of those traditional costumes, but what I noticed about the dancers was like they're all the same height, they're all basically the same size. They're all very similar."

"Yeah they were," interrupted Frederick. "They're very precise in everything that they do."

The Spectacular will finish its 2008 global tour with one more show in Alabama on May 6 and three shows in Edmonton May 5-7. When completed, the Spectacular will have performed in 65 cities on four continents and to an audience of around 650,000.
