CALGARY—Jim Erhart, a pharmaceutical researcher, has been to many different Chinese performances both inside and outside China.
However, he said none of them are as good as the Divine Performing Arts Chinese Spectacular, which played to a full house one last time in Calgary on Friday evening.
"I've seen similar shows, not this good.… I've actually traveled to China as well, seen some shows over there...but this is probably the best," said Erhart.
"It's absolutely fabulous, the colours are spectacular, the coordination of the dances is very, very impressive, the music is very, very nice, so I'm very impressed by the show."
The colours in the costumes also "stood out" for Erhart, who thought they were "spectacular."
Erhart also said he was surprised to see that many Caucasians were interested in the show as well.
"I think it's interesting that the Caucasian folks are willing to come out and see and learn from it as well, as am I. So it's been pretty good," he said.
After traveling to 65 cities on four continents, the New York-based Divine Performing Arts dance company will wind up its 2008 international tour with a show in Cleveland on Saturday and three in Edmonton on May 5, 6 and 7.
