Baby Cots Recalled After Safety Fears

AAP
May 16, 2008

SYDNEY—Three models of imported baby cots sold on Australian internet auction sites have been recalled over fears infants could fall out.

DVIN Corporation recalled the cots today after the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) raised concerns over a series of safety issues.

The ACCC found the height of the side rails could result in children falling out and identified a number of hazards that could trap children inside the cots.

They also had protrusions which could snag clothing and did not have the required information and warning labels.

The pinewood cots were sold through eBay from November 24 to December 4, 2006, and Grays Online from October 20, 2007 to January 6, 2008.

Models YD308, YD628, YD6288 were sold during these periods to customers in NSW, QLD, VIC and the ACT, the ACCC said.
