HUNTSVILLE, Ala.—The 2008 final show of Divine Performing Arts on tour at the Von Braun Center Concert Hall in Huntsville, Alabama dropped the curtain on May 6.

Dr. Jeff Lin from Anhui Province, China, is now teaching and doing research at the University of Alabama in Huntsville. He said happily, "Divine Performing Arts had really made Chinese proud, I hope they will come to Huntsville again. It would be nice if they could come on traditional Chinese holidays such as the Spring Festival, or the Lantern Festival."

Lin indicated that the show manifested five thousand years of Chinese culture, from the Tibetan dance to the Mongolian dance; the entire show was rich and colorful. The costumes, stage props, and dancing were all of a high standard, "The overall design is perfect, it has various dances and songs, Tang drums are inserted in-between, male performers are vigorous, and female performers are gracious. I feel really involved watching this high standard genuine traditional Chinese culture."

Lin thought that the rumbling drum sound at the beginning and the ending of the show climaxed the mood of the audience, it was indeed ingenious. From the stage props to the dances, the design was all well done. The entire show was powerful and exciting. I wished it would not end. "Drums used to be in temple fairs and folk dramas, but the Divine Performing Arts is able to exalt it to such a high level of professional performance, it is remarkable."

He suggested that the Divine Performing Arts put in more effort to tell the public that the performers are mainly from Yew York and that they are Americans of Chinese heritage. This will tell people that foreign born Chinese can also inherit the Divine Chinese culture. "Actually, in the past 50 years of atheism under the CCP in China, the culture of Buddhism and Daoism that cultivates benevolence and truthfulness have been shattered in mainland China." said Lin.
