BUCHAREST, Romania—The Divine Performing Arts Chinese Spectacular played its final show Tuesday at the Bucharest National Theatre.

The show impressed Romanian audiences of all ages and walks of life. Some knew about traditional Chinese culture and some didn't. However, one thing was clear — the show was much appreciated.

While for many it was their first taste of real Chinese culture, audience members still identified with the message the show portrayed.

"During the show my imagination was running. Even if I'm not part of their culture, but spiritually, there is something connecting us," said Radu Iatcu.

Vasile Marian, a retired construction engineer who also attended Tuesday's show, expressed his thoughts both on the Spectacular and his interest in Chinese culture.

"It's a distinctive one. I wanted to see the show because Chinese culture is also very distinctive. I have admired it from a young age, and therefore I attended Chinese language classes for a year and a half. It's a language that I enjoy and I have put a lot of passion into it," he said.

The colorful background and the dazzling costumes enchanted Romanian audiences as they watched the Spectacular. Dorina Tudor, a psychologist, enjoyed the show very much, calling it "unreal."

"It's remarkable; it was a sensation of another reality, which dominated the entire show. Full harmony and a sensation of floating. Also, the scenery impressed me. The costumes and choreography were very distinctive."

Many who have seen the Spectacular feel that it carries a deeper message. This was also true for Tudor.

"Here the message is very clear: wisdom, peace, harmony."
