BUCHAREST, Romania—The Chinese Spectacular played two nights to full houses at the National Theater in Bucharest, April 7–8. During the second show, a large group of close friends who attended the performance expressed their feelings that the themes presented in the show were a reflection of their bonds of friendship.

Corina Dragoescu, a human resources worker for an engineering company, explained that their group of friends are bound together by "friendship, sincerity, and truth, which are things we found again in the show. In our group, everyone is appreciative for the happiness of each other," she continued. "For example, one member of the group had lost a family member, but I told her that it's worth it to come to the show."

"To put it plainly," said Dragoescu, "I enjoyed the show's message as well as the sets, colors, and music. The whole show functioned very well as a unit."

She said, "We will remember the message: Truth, Compassion, and Forbearance." She added that the entire group had put "a lot of soul into what they are doing, and you could see they liked to perform for us and transmit this to us. It's something we could feel."

Dragoescu spoke about why the show had made such a strong impression on her. She explained that the culture presented in the show is "something totally different from what we have learned here [in Romania.] The music, rhythm, and the delicateness are all different." She added, "The Chinese culture is fascinating to me."

Another woman in the group, Marina Costache, a dentist and also a trained ballet dancer, said, "The movements are completely distinctive. I'm a dentist now, but I have practiced gymnastics and dance. The entire group [her dance group] have a meeting on Saturday, and we will try to dance to Chinese rhythms."
