BUCHAREST, Romania—Professor Petru Andea is a distinguished member of the Romanian Parliament and Vice President of the Committee for Education, Science, Youth, and Sport. He serves as Dean of the Department of Electrical Engineering at the Universitatea Politechnica of Timisoara.

He said he felt great pleasure coming to see the Spectacular. He has long admired Chinese culture, and felt that the "soul of Chinese culture is dance and music." During many visits to China he has seen much of value. Not only performing arts but also architecture, sculpture, painting, and the history of China interested and impressed him.

After seeing the Chinese Spectacular at the National Theatre he said, "I can undoubtedly say that, at this moment, the Chinese culture is the patrimony of the whole of humankind."

"I am delighted. I think this is the most appropriate word to express how I feel after the show. I find in it exactly what I expected to find, meaning a lot of cultural and values in the music and the dance, which also treats historical themes and transmits messages, because the show is built around messages that the Chinese artists wanted to transmit to us."

Mr. Andea said he understood the show was "constructed around the Chinese diaspora, because most of the artists are living in the United States. Without diminishing the values of traditional Chinese culture, they also transmitted strong messages about what a new vision [for China] means based on the essence of the Chinese people's lives.

"I'm not only impressed. I'm delighted. I have to say that I saw exactly what I expected to see. It's exactly what I wished for and I expected. It was said at one moment in the show that dance and music are the soul of Chinese culture. I really found these themes. The Tang Dynasty drummers have resonance in Romanian music also. We also have drummer groups that could compete with the Tang Dynasty drummers from China. I'm convinced that [the show] will be a big success in Romania, and I wish you would come more often.

"I wish you luck, and I'm very happy that I was invited to this show.
