BRISBANE, Australia—Kelly Curry works in customer service and was brought to the Divine Performing Arts Chinese Spectacular in Brisbane through her interest in Chinese dance. "I've actually read a few books about Chinese dance so that's why I was interested in coming — to see whether the book rang true with what is actually happening," she said. "It's pretty spot on actually so I'm glad I came."

Ms Curry heard about the show through a flyer she received and found the performance to be "fantastic". "[It was] everything I thought it would be and more. The costumes are pretty amazing and the way they all move in time, it's pretty fantastic," she said.

And to sum up the experience in a few words, Ms Curry said: "Succinct and really graceful and elegant would be the main things."

Impressed by the 3-dimensional digital backdrop

John, a retired mechanic, came with Teresa to watch the Divine Performing Arts Chinese Spectacular and described it as "beautiful".

John was particularly impressed by the 3-dimensional digital backdrop and the two bi-lingual hosts who introduced each item. "So far, it has just been wonderful," he said. The background is beautiful … and I think the two that are actually giving the run-down on it, it's very, very good." But it was too difficult to single out any one favourite act from the show. "I couldn't pick out one; everything was wonderful," he said.

"Well to me, I just enjoyed what they have done. Because not having visited there [China] or been in that area, the backgrounds and that are just magnificent. As I say, this is a modern version of what happened many, many years ago. And to me, I just enjoyed it," said John.

Both pleased that they had come, Teresa said that she would tell her friends that they also should come to see the show.
