SYDNEY, Australia—As the Divine Performing Arts Chinese Spectacular wound up its matinee show at the Brisbane Convention Centre on Tuesday April 8, delighted audience members expressed their appreciation towards the show.
One of these was Julie Seidel, Head of Arts at St Peter's Lutheran College, who also brought her daughters along to enjoy the performance.
"It's a good vignette of various aspects of Chinese culture — some of the stories, the individual performers, the production. I think the backdrops and the technology are very good because that gives you some connection visually…It's got that nice encompassing feel. Parts of it you feel like you could just float away," she said.
She also added that the show resonated with her on a number of levels, with the music having a peaceful sensibility. "It's just the serenity of the piece takes you back to the traditional aspects of the culture that you expect to see at a show like this."
