BRISBANE, Australia—"We loved it; it was fantastic," said Missy Berryman after seeing the Spectacular with her two children in Brisbane April 8. "The kids had a wonderful time."

Ms Berryman travelled the two and a half hours from Byron Bay, in northern New South Wales, to see the show. She was part of a local Byron group that were all interested in the arts and culture.

"They all loved it," she said.

Miss Berryman said she and the children had had no expectations about the show before they arrived, but all three had been taken with it.

"We loved the fan dance," she said, "and the drumming." "I liked the dancing," said eldest daughter Rheagan." I liked the drumming one and the 'Mongolian Bowl Dance'." Younger daughter Hinerai said the show was great. "I liked the drumming."

Miss Berryman said the show had been good for the children as it had "very good messages in the dances".

"We are definitely glad to have come," she said. "I am going back to tell my friends about it."

Inspired by Colours

Carolyn Harris, a creative artist, came up to Brisbane in the same bus from Byron Bay. Carolyn, who makes sculptured dolls with creative fibres, was particularly impressed with the costumes.

"The colours and the costumes always inspires me. I always like to see how other people portray colours and I thought the colours of the costumes were beautiful."

Carolyn was impressed by the overall teamwork of the performers, as well as the lead dancer. "I thought the lead female dancer was absolutely gorgeous.

"I found it very moving, about the Compassion, Truth and Forbearance. Everything about it I thought was very moving. It explained to us their feelings, which we don't normally know because of the language barrier. I thought it was wonderful that they put all the words up to the songs, so you could understand what they said; you weren't just sitting here listening.
