BUCHAREST, Romania—Divine Performing Arts performed the 40th showing of its renowned Chinese Spectacular Monday evening at the Bucharest National Theatre. We caught up with Goetz Von Thaden, head of the Romanian office of the European Investment Bank and his family after the show.
"There is a special aesthetic that makes it so different and [there is] a very beautiful way of moving with the colors," remarked Goetz.
His 9-year-old daughter, Karlot Von Thaden, shared similar sentiments, "It's very exotic and beautiful dresses. They dance beautifully."
Matil Von Thaden, Goetz's wife felt similarly, "I really liked the colors and I think that it is really very attractive how they do it [perform]."
Goetz also felt t hat the Spectacular showcased a unique brand of culture, "I think the content was pretty self-explanatory but it is very traditional and it is a very different tradition than from the European one."
He continued, "I think because it is so different from our culture, it shows a very different world and a very different tradition. The singing with a kind of Opera-voice but with a very different language—it is a shock and a positive one."
