BRISBANE—On the opening night of the Divine Performing Arts Chinese Spectacular in Brisbane, the Great Hall of the Convention and Exhibition Centre was packed with some of Australia's top entertainers.

Among them was the Dreamtime Opera Diva Delmae Barton. Mrs Barton was deeply moved by the Spectacular's spiritual dimension, saying it was "enlightening in spirit as well as soul".

"I feel it's very beautiful show, very enlightening. Not many in Australia would have seen a performance such as this."

"The whole presentation of the show is in and out of this world," added the opera singer, who performs both solo and with her son William, a didgeridoo player.

Mrs Barton also commented on the multimedia backdrop used in the show, saying it was "absolutely beautiful".

The opera singing in the Spectacular also impressed Mrs Barton, who herself has been "gifted with an opera voice". She described the songs as "absolute magic" that carried deep meaning.

"The words are beautiful, very meaningful. [I] just love all the expressions of the songs — the written words. It had deep meaning in everything that has been happening on stage."

Mrs Barton concluded by saying that the Spectacular is very "healing".

"I think it's very healing for people to come and see something spectacular like this. I feel that within people, song performance is healing for the heart and soul."

Mrs Barton has collaborated in prestigious performances with the Queensland Ballet Company and Eclectic Light Orchestra. Her career highlights include representing Australia and New Zealand with William at the Canadian Arts Festival in 2002.
