SYDNEY, Australia—Ms Su, originally from Mainland China, was so moved by the Chinese Spectacular on Saturday night that it left her in tears.
She said that 'The Risen Lotus Flower', a dance depicting the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners in China, left the greatest impression on her.
"That was quite touching. I have always admired people who sacrifice so much for their beliefs. They even sacrifice their lives. It doesn't matter what sort of magical scenes those two performers saw, it's their determination that is the most precious," she said, adding: "I cried at this point."
"Whenever I hear these stories, I start crying uncontrollably. These people are so courageous."
Ms Su is very aware of the current situation in China, and how difficult it is for people to stand up for what they believe in.
"There's also those people within China, those who dare to stand up and speak out for [people being persecuted], who protect human rights. I was very moved."
Reflecting on the performances, Ms Su added: "I really hope that many more people can step forward and are willing to fight [and] stand up for their own beliefs. Then the effect will be more powerful. It will change our environment."
