SYDNEY, Australia—Audience member Russell, a contractor for the Australian Navy, said he found the Sydney Spectacular "very enjoyable and uplifting".
"I just feel there is a lot of passion and effort that goes into your culture," Russell said to a Chinese interviewer after Sydney's final performance on Saturday night.
"It was amazing, very colourful, very enjoyable and uplifting.
"I'm going to go to China to see more. That's what it's done for me."
Alicia, a teacher attending the show with Russell, said the show had a peacefulness about it that she didn't find when she visited China.
Very, very peaceful," Alicia said. "Very relaxing. I don't know – just calming.
"I guess there seems to be much more of a peace in the performances and everything than what I saw in China in general.
"What was reflected in the dances, it just seems very…like mediation, if you like.
"If that is based on history, I didn't really feel that very much in the people when I went there."
