'It's very pure and very truthful art'

SYDNEY, Australia—Judy said she the liked the way the dance movements were skilful, yet simplistic, after attending Sydney's matinee performance of the Chinese Spectacular on Saturday afternoon.

"Very skilful, wonderful costuming, wonderful lighting, but at the same time it was nice and simple," said Judy.

Judy's favourite performance was also one of the Falun Gong-related dances. Entitled 'The Risen Lotus Flower', the dance depicts three women imprisoned for practising Falun Gong, and one is beaten to death for standing up to the police.

"The story behind it was that if somebody does good — it always stays," she said.

"So the sisters, even though they had lost their sister, they had stood up for something they believed in and they'd won. Even though she died, they had won, in that small way."

Happy From Beginning to End'

Another audience member, Sirvart, a nurse, said the Spectacular was the first performance that made her smile "from beginning to end

"You just have to see it with your own eyes," she said.

"I just recommend to everybody to come and see it every year because it's very pure and very truthful art. Very high quality music, very professional entertainment.

"It's the first time at a concert I've felt happy from the beginning to the end."

Sirvart said she liked all of the performances, but she particularly liked two items about the Falun Gong meditation practice.

"There were two numbers about Truthfulness, Compassion and Tolerance. That's very nice for the awareness," she said.

"We know what's happening there and we condemn it. I condemn what they're doing.

"We condemn it. It is against humanity. It is inhumane, to kill people and massacre people because they are doing harmless practice."
