SYDNEY, Australia—Many Australians had wonderful experiences while watching the Divine Performing Arts performances at today's matinee. Inside the packed Entertainment Centre, here's what they had to say.
'Something different'
Marjie Hopkins, a retired hairdresser, said: "I thought it was really interesting to see something different to what you normally see, especially when it opens your mind to another culture.
"And I think it was very good to say something about the Falun Gong movement and I was happy they brought this to our attention. I just thought it was great. I will tell more people and friends about it."
John Ricketts, a retired nurse, said: "I liked the drums and the tenor was good, really very good. The Chinese culture can rub off onto Australia. It was excellent, it really was."
'I am going to tell everybody to come and see it next year'
Nada Ristevska, also retired, said: "It was very nice, and we will come back next year and see it again. I enjoyed it, and I am going to tell everybody to come and see it next year, all my friends. Probably, I'll organize a group. It'll be even more fun. It's worth the money - every cent. A first-class performance."
'A new and special outlook on life'
Friends Judy Campbell and Joyce Hamen said: "This was very entertaining — singing and dancing, and acrobats. You'd have to come and see it. It gives you a whole new vision of Asian music, dancing and culture. I'd say 'go and see it.'"
When asked if there was any message you could feel coming from the show, both ladies replied: "It's just lovely to see such gentle people. This has given us a look into a different culture and way of living, different beliefs and mannerisms and most of all a new and special outlook on life."
