SYDNEY, Australia—On the last night of the Chinese Spectacular's performance in the Sydney, Entertainment Centre was packed with a diverse audience.
Among them was the president of the international nutritional company Market Australia, Wrenwyck Williams. Mr Willams has only been in Australia for four months, moving from North Carolina in the US. He found out about the Spectacular from a friend and "has not been disappointed at all".
Mr Williams described the performances as a "very moving experience from a spiritual perspective. From a visual perspective as well, it is a very dynamic, very successful programme."
He was especially taken by the "underlying message of morality and good values".
"That's the part that's really most moving. It's beginning [to] target at the heart of how you should live - the morality of it, the values of it. Even if someone will sacrifice to live a certain way, it's wonderful."
Many of the songs and dance items in the Spectacular are based on the traditional Chinese values that seek to improve human nature, attain spiritual enlightenment and bring back universal values of compassion, honesty and tolerance.
When asked if the show would be enjoyed by both Chinese and Western audiences, Mr Williams responded that "anyone" would benefit. "Does not matter what your background or what your culture. Because of the humans spirit that's in all of us, when you see what's going on that stage you will know that because of that spirit in us that it's for everyone.
"It transcends all culture, all nationalities, all backgrounds. Your human spirit would be able to relate to this programme."
Mr Williams also praised the skill and artistry of the performers.
"The skill is phenomenal. My daughter is also a dancer. So I have some experience watching her from childhood. Watching the skill of the performers was absolutely phenomenal. I would recommend it to anyone."
Among his favourites was 'Drummers of the Tang Court'.
"It was very exciting. It comes from a position of aggression. I guess…there are times when you have to go to war. But overall the enthusiasm that the young men had when performing the dance".
If he had to describe the Spectacular in two words, they would be: "Absolutely breathtaking!"
