MELBOURNE−The Divine Performing Arts' Chinese Spectacular in Melbourne has not only enchanted Chinese and Western audience members, but also made overseas Chinese proud of being the Chinese people.

Seeing the Chinese Spectacular show on the afternoon of March 30, Mr and Mrs Peng, who immigrated to Australia many years ago, expressed that the performance was excellent in terms of both arts and entertainment perspectives, and that they enjoyed all the programs from the beginning to the end.

They especially liked the magnificent backdrops that powerfully attracted their attention. Among others, they were impressed very much with the opening act of the 'Descent of the Celestial Kings' and the performance 'Drummers of the Tang Court'.

Mrs Peng said that all these programs were of highest quality, and the visually splendid scenes in the show made her spirits lift. As to the act that told the story of Falun Gong, The couple Peng said that the persecution should not have happened in China. They also said they would like to see the Spectacular again next year.

Also in the audience was Ms Zhang Jinhua, who used to be a dancer in China, and has been a beautician after moving to Australia. She marveled at the Spectacular and said, "Wonderful! Wonderful! The costumes and the performances were splendid. I like every program — the backdrops in particular, as they looked so real. I've never seen such state-of-the-art backdrops like these."

Ms Zhang said that every program was so magnificent and professional. But if she really had to pick her most favorite one, she would choose the 'Mongolian Bowl Dance'.

She said, "Compared to all performing arts I have seen before, this show demonstrated refinement of skills and a more in-depth technical development. It's been a long time since I've seen such a wonderful show."

When interviewed, Ms Wang, a self-run business owner, said, "It is indeed very delightful to see this kind of show abroad. I feel what performed here is something that we cannot see in China, and what people can see and hear in China is nothing but the same propaganda. It's really very nice to live overseas, as we are able to see the truth."
