Kansas City Gets a Taste of Chinese Classical Dance

KANSAS CITY, Missouri—The Divine Performing Arts Chinese Spectacular graced the stage of Yardley Hall on the campus of Johnson County Community College in Kansas City, a city well known for jazz and blues and barbecue.

Mekinsey Johnson and Aimee Melin, who are sisters, particularly liked the skill of the female dancers, and their style of dance and their grace. They said their favorite performances were the 'Risen Lotus Flower' which depicts the perseverance of practitioners of Falun Gong and also the fan dance. Both sisters exclaimed in agreement, "It was all wonderful!

Community Relations Director, Amber DiGiovanni, and her daughter Audrey drove all the way from St. Joseph to see the show. Amber, a professional fan dancer and a teacher of Middle Eastern belly dancing and ballroom dancing, said she enjoyed the 'Nymphs of the Sea' performance.

Lori Hansen who works in Public Affairs in Kansas City said, "It was wonderful, it was really good!" Ms Hansen brought her 4 year-old daughter Signa to see the performance. (The Epoch Times)

Signa really liked the 'Mongolian Bowl Dance' and her mother said, "The dancing and the Chinese Violin (Erhu) were fabulous!" Furthermore, she emphasized that she learned a lot about the values and qualities of Chinese culture."
