SEATTLE—The audience at Thursday's performance of the Chinese Spectacular had many things to say about the show, below are some of their comments.

Bob Holmes is a business consultant who came to the Spectacular with his wife Ester. They were both delighted with the Spectacular. Bob stated, "Beautiful, it's just fantastic. The discipline, the culture, its just amazing to see, it's really a beautiful spectacle."

Ester, who works as a travel agent and has traveled the world, said, "It's very spiritual."

Michael Conden, a retired grocery produce buyer, working now as a manager for a retirement community, and his wife Diane, who works for Microsoft, also attended the show.

Michael and Diane's daughter got the tickets for them because she had already seen the show and wanted her parents to experience it. Diane stated, "The show is awesome!"

Diane has Chinese coworkers and did not know that she was going to experience the Chinese culture through the Spectacular. "It's been a pleasant surprise."

"One thing that surprised me was how fluid everything is. And the voices of the singers that have sang were beautiful." Diane feels that the singing is easy to understand, "even though they sing in Chinese—the message is beautiful."

"The dances are gorgeous. It's a very well choreographed performance." Diane was most impressed with the "Mongolian Bowl Dance" where the dancers balance three (real) bowls atop their head as they dance, swing, and shake. Diane could also appreciate the precise dance movements of the Divine Performing Arts performers, and the uniqueness of the heal-toe type of steps, which are different from ballet.

Michael interjects to say, "It's very graceful and elegant." Michael and Diane have three kids who are drummers, so it's not hard to see why they loved the "Tang Drums" the best. Michael states, "I liked the drummers most especially."

Donna Duffy works in sales and is also a professional dancer. "The show is fabulous, I love the costumes, I love the dancing, everyone is so graceful." Donna could not help but want to jump up out of her seat and join them dancing on stage, "I just wanted to get up and dance! Yeah!!"

Like many of the audience members, the "Nymphs of the Sea" was Donna's favorite dance. "It's beautiful what they [the dancers] do with the fans."

Donna is a professional dancer and can really appreciate Divine Performing Arts' classical Chinese dancing and wants to learn more about classical Chinese dancing after attending the Spectacular, "After seeing this I want to take some lessons in this type of dancing." Donna also said that she learned a lot and that she was inspired enough to take notes during the show!

For now, the Chinese Spectacular will be heading to Vancouver Canada for 4 days. Get your tickets!
