HONOLULU—Several prominent overseas Chinese, including president of the Hawaii Overseas Chinese Association, president of the Emperor Shun International Cultural University, chairman of the board of directors for the World Cultural Exchange Association, and Dr. Chen Honggang, watched the Diving Performing Arts performances several times in Hawaii. On April 22, he brought his wife and two daughters, who came from the U.S. mainland to visit them, to watch the show together in Hawaii.
Before the show started, Chen read several thoughts he had written beforehand.
"After watching the Divine Performing Art's show, I felt deeply within me that the Chinese culture goes back to ancient times. It shows humankind's sincere loyalty, harmony, health, happiness, and cultural diversity, all to make this world better, more hopeful and happier, more peaceful, prosperous and dynamic, such that they bring integrity to the world and spread truth and good tidings to the people."
"The history of every nation in the world begins with some form of myth. China is the only divine land that inherited 5,000 years of civilization. The orthodox culture and arts of the great Tang dynasty take in many elements from various cultures. Its magnificent bearing, the grand sound of Dharma drums resounds through the skies. It is rich with inspiring and exciting works of art and culture, making it utterly unforgettable. That kind of outstanding cultural contribution has left the world a completely truthful, compassionate, beautiful, peaceful and harmonious chapter of history. It is a complete integration of Eastern and Western cultures."
"The men are masculine and magnificent, and the women are tender and charming, displaying the Chinese culture's richness and profoundness. Its varied and colorful multicultural contribution promotes peace for countries, societies and the world."
