Businessman Finds 'Chinese Spectacular' 'An excellent place to be'

VANCOUVER, Canada—Peter Stanimirovic, a local business owner, attended the Divine Performing Arts Chinese Spectacular at the Bell Performing Arts Centre on Friday for the show's opening night.

Mr. Stanimirovic is used to seeing performing arts shows but he especially enjoyed experiencing art "from an ancient culture ... It's good to see how other [cultures] perform certain things—which I have seen before in my culture—but not ever in this totally nice way."

Originally from the former Yugoslavia, Mr Stanimirovic has lived in Canada for fifteen years. He was glad that he attended, saying, "This is excellent, [an] excellent place to be tonight. It's good to be around very nice people; nice performance." Mr. Stanimirovic liked the meaning in the dances. "It is sort of sending a message to everybody, especially coming from China." He said he appreciated how the depicted stories of pre and modern China that were able to change people's "lives in a better way. That's my personal impression of what is the real message of the show. You can feel that …"

Mr. Stanimirovic's experience with Chinese culture has been through his Chinese customers, newspapers and books. The gave him a new look into the culture.
