VANCOUVER, Canada—Joan Hall attended the Chinese Spectacular with her husband on Friday evening at Vancouver's Bell Performing Arts Centre. Ms. Hall, a former dancer, appreciated the Divine Performing Arts dance company's precision choreography.

"I looked at the setting, the background; how it is coordinated with what was going on, on the stage ... I am into the performance, the artistic, and the beauty of the culture. It was an excellent performance."

Ms. Hall is originally from Arizona, in the U.S. and said watching the Chinese Spectacular made her feel, "It was like being [home] again."

Ms. Hall loves music and ballroom dancing, in particular the artistic expression of dance. She said it was nice to have the opportunity to see such a beautiful, bilingual, multicultural show. "It would be nice to see more multicultural events of different cultures."

Ms. Hall and her husband purchased tickets for the best seats on opening night. The couple said they "would absolutely come back and see the show again" next year. "It was so nice to have this opportunity."

'I must go'

Serinder Panen, a teacher, also saw the show on Friday. She said, "Fascinating. I really enjoyed it. It is a totally different thing for me to watch." Ms. Panen had never seen Chinese classical dance, "I have heard about it but never seen it. So I thought I must go."

Ms. Panen found the Chinese Spectacular a "very good experience; very good."
