SEATTLE—Dr. Jonathan Wilson and his wife Muriel were delighted by the Chinese Spectacular in Seattle on Wednesday.
Dr. Wilson said he was impressed by the dance. "What I particularly liked was the fine movements and the very graceful movements, which were extremely expressive and highly technical."
"And the synchronization of the movements within the group and movements of each individual—that really struck me. And of course all the color and the music. It really was spectacular," he said.
Mrs Wilson said she "absolutely enjoyed" the performance, "because it was spectacular and it was interesting."
She said her and daughter had just been talking about the different aspects of China's history, culture, wars and religion that had stood out for them during through the performance.
"The one that really struck me was the one where they were in the ocean [Nymphs of the Sea]," she said.
Dr Wilson said he enjoyed the 'Mongolian Bowl Dance,' in which the dancers balanced three tea cups on their heads.
"And the reason for that is I think technically that was probably the most difficult and the most sophisticated of all the dances that I have seen. The balance, the movements, the very fine movements were induced by that particular piece."
"For me that was the outstanding piece of the evening," he said.
