SEATTLE—Wednesday's Chinese Spectacular attracted both new and repeat audiences to its display of traditional Chinese culture.
Bruce Thompson, a successful Seattle businessman, came to the show and was very impressed with tenor Hong Ming. "Well, I thought it was spectacular, quite good. I liked the technical aspect, and the posture of the performers."
Bruce's wife, Linda, a retired kindergarten teacher, also attended the show last year and stated, "I liked the colors and the costumes, they are just outstanding. The colors are so bright every year. I also enjoyed the dancers' discipline, they are really committed to what they are doing out there and they take a lot of pride in that."
The "Forsythia in Spring" performance was Linda's favorite. "I also liked 'Chopstick Zest,' and loved the drums."
Giovanna, 11, goes to Washington Middle School and she attended tonight's show with her mother, Jennifer Corrigan. Giovanna liked all of the performances, but liked the drums the best. Her mother said, "I thought it was wonderful."

Karyll Henry is a retired hospital clerk. She came to the show because she loves performing arts and has seen Chinese ballet, and was happily surprised with the Chinese Spectacular, stating, "I thought it was going to be Chinese ballet, but it was much more. I really enjoyed it."
In fact, Karyll enjoyed the show so much that she was heading home to email her friends to not miss the Thursday night show in Seattle.
